About the potential loss of interest, that's relatively true. But you should take into account that a new update will bring new players (and patrons) in, and if devs prove to be trustworthy by releasing a 'quicker' 0.8 update, most of this criticism will be forgotten or at least put away for another year or more. Right now, that may be seen as a big if, for sure, but it's a totally possible outcome, and that potential loss of interest won't be an actual problem at all.
People don't live as long as these guys plan to "develop" this game. 3 people I know who waited for an update to this game has already died. It looks like Stalker 2 but in the "adult theme" - the whole generation of people died waiting for the sequel. I guess they have to figure out their personal lives first, make more babies if necessary and stop scamming people out of their money. If my project would go forward as slow as theirs - the team would be disbanded and all people fired without compensation. With no excuses.

Not sure what you mean by this. Here's the progress tracker from exactly 6 months ago:
View attachment 3612251

And this is today's progress tracker:
View attachment 3612253

As everyone can see, during the last six months they have been adding and completing new writing, code, posing, and audio tasks to complete the planned content: just looking at the total content bar, it went from 838/954 tasks to 1074/1076. Sure you can see the difference between those numbers, but let's make it even more clear: they completed 236 content-related tasks in this period, which means that up to 21.93% of the total content for this update has been completed within the last 6 months.

As they've explained in their weekly Patreon reports, and also to anyone asking in their free discord server, they are constantly checking parts of the game, replaying it, and going through that new content to find other things that should be improved and/or fixed, which is why many more edit and debug tasks have been added in this period, especially after the initially planned content was done. Those 'polish' tasks are currently being completed, going up from 407/440 tasks to 635/718 (the chart contains a typo and says 717). We're now fully deep in that polishing phase, and that dev's message you quoted explained what these still uncompleted tasks actually mean: rewriting some dialogues, creating a new scene, and so on. Of course, those weren't things already fixed (although it's possible that a new playthrough could lead devs to think some 'fixed' parts should still be improved despite having been 'fixed' months ago).

Anyway, this brief side-by-side comparison of those 2 graphics everyone can find in their Discord server makes it clear devs haven't been updating that tracker 'specifically in terms of bugfixing' for about six months, as you said. This polishing phase actually started on April 16th, and that's less than a month ago. Here's the progress tracker from that date:

So, your first post on this forum after almost 7 years may be your honest opinion, but it also contains totally wrong info and you're the only one who could tell us why you wanted to share that fake news, as it may mislead others. That's not leaving a good first impression.
12% progress in the last 6 months :KEK: Don't worry guys, just a bit of polishing left :HideThePain:

I have an odd and somewhat irrelevant question here, but one question to those who pledged to their Patreon: have, at any point, the devs ever paused their monthly billing? I know some honest devs who have done this, ironically they are very small devs who need the support most... But anyway I assume No.

Have you never heard about the rule of 90% done in 10% of the time, and the last 10% takes 90% of the development time.

Yeh real life sucks...

Hell even people are complaining about de VN 'guilty pleasure', it got 1 update almost every month.
Oh, you're still in this thread? Weird. You went missing after Xupuzulla called you out lol

I'm sorry, I think you are mistaking identity. I never was called out, and I didn't go missing. I never stopped ranting, and making fun of life either...

Edit: It seems I will never know what the F he was talking about...

It's not that my plan was to create any impression on an audience ready to justify anything. Especially if they do it for free. Without connecting the central nervous system to the process.

Perhaps I overreacted about the 6 months spent fixing bugs. But what has changed the essence? The progress of work on their site is a scam.
At the same time, it turns out from your information that the developers do not even hide this. After all, if they add new "points" - why didn't this happen with bugs? Why does the progress that has been changing for almost 2 years not reflect the real state of affairs when it took another 2 months for BUGFIXES?
This is literally a deliberate deception - subscribe to us for another month to find out that the game is actually waiting not just a few days, but two months. At least. This is if, in the process of working out the game balance in a porn game, there are no problems with the game economy, which will take another month to eliminate.

Yeah, months of "bug fixes" on a really simple 2D VN with no branching storylines or real choices... I'm sorta lost on how you could even have a lot of bugs in the first place.

But don't worry, as soon as they burn out this excuse I'm sure a distant relative will fall ill or one of them will need appendix surgery or their dog will get cancer...

It's exactly the opposite of a scam and you are stating why: the developers do not hide what they are doing. They are updating that info daily, and all those progress charts are kept on their public discord server, so people only need to check them to see how fast they are working. It's so obvious that things are going slow that no one with a half-functional brain can feel cheated about the development pace - frustrated? absolutely, but not cheated. People can also know how much money devs are earning, as it's also publicly available on their Patreon page. If someone chooses to pledge, is because he is fine with that, not because he's being misled into believing that the update is going to be released soon or devs may be running short of money. And those unhappy with how things are progressing only need to hit the unsubscribe button, which is as easy as hitting subscribe -and they'll still get the game for free whenever it's ready. That can't possibly be a scam.

After all, if they add new "points" - why didn't this happen with bugs? Why does the progress that has been changing for almost 2 years not reflect the real state of affairs when it took another 2 months for BUGFIXES?
Because the actual amount of what they call 'bugs' (you can find the description in the 'FAQ' section in the OP) can only be properly estimated once the planned content is ready. When they start any development cycle, they are aware of a few bugs from previous chapters, and then a few more get added during development as people report them or devs notice them while coding and testing parts of the new content. But it's only when everything is put together that they fully focus on looking for all the things that wouldn't work in a full build after that new content is added - which is why the bug tasks took such a bump after content tasks got to (almost) 100%.

You can think of those 'bugs' tasks as a second pass (and third, and even fourth if necessary) to make sure the 'coding' tasks were properly done: i.e., they initially added a coding task to indicate the MC needs to start a quest during the first evening at his tent after meeting a certain character; then, when they have this coding task completed and all the art and dialogues have been added, they test the full game from scratch and find out that, for some players who may choose to play the available quests in a different order, there's another quest blocking this particular scene or taking precedence when it shouldn't, and that means a bug task needs to be added. Sometimes they detect those issues while still making the planned content and update that bug count during that phase, but sometimes it's just impossible to detect them unless you start a new playthrough, or devs are just too short-sighted and don't realize those possible conflicts before it's too late. That's standard game development.

And, if you take a look at the most recent progress trackers, you'll see that these days they are mainly completing 'edit' tasks (that is, fixing art and dialogues, as stated in their message), because it's only after having those fixed when they can properly test the game again and focus on fixing actual 'bugs'.

This is literally a deliberate deception - subscribe to us for another month to find out that the game is actually waiting not just a few days, but two months. At least.
No, it's not a deception. All those tasks they keep adding, everyone can learn about them first thing in the morning -not just patrons, but everyone. So no one needs to subscribe to find out, and that's exactly the point of making that tracker public: to let everybody know how things are progressing, as stated above. On top of that, and in case these numbers weren't explicit enough (because, as some comments I've seen today about the % of progress show, some people have serious problems with Maths even if they have 'math' in their usernames), devs keep saying the update won't be ready *soon*, but in a few months. Again, clear and transparent info so people can make informed decisions about supporting the game. Even if someone were so financially stupid to rush and pledge based only on the false assumption the game was about to be released (and anyway I wonder, why would anyone do that instead of waiting a little bit more until the game is actually out?), devs quickly stated in several public comments that we are still some months away. And this last time they even described what they are currently working on.

This is if, in the process of working out the game balance in a porn game, there are no problems with the game economy, which will take another month to eliminate.
If they think the game needs that extra month, you can be sure they'll take that month. And fear not, everybody will know about it as soon as possible and without paying a dime for that info.

You can be frustrated, and you can not believe what devs say, but, so far, all their statements check out using fair logic. However, most of what I've seen here in the last months is exactly the opposite: twisting logic (or blatantly making false statements) to support prejudices and unmovable opinions against these devs and their supporters. It's a sad mix of frustration, jealousy, and pure trolling and brigading from self-righteous people who can't accept others freely spending their money how they see fit -or maybe from people who simply get off on collecting reactions from their online 'friends in hate' that keep patrolling the thread.

Hey as long as this thraed still not dead the game is in the same page. For me (and many people here) that not pay for Dev's Patron we still heard and see people argue so that make it still alive for sure.
As for people that lost hope or feel like thie game turn to scam hole. You can shout as loud as you want and leave. No need to recruit more people to your crusade. Look, you can judge by yourself that 'thing' are scam or not. But people can also judge by themself. Let them be and let time reveal true of this Dev'. People will decide to stop paying their monthly by themself not by someone shout at their face that their fool.

Can't wait to play another 15 mins story update, must be totally worth 2 years of subscription
If Fantasy Valley came back to active development I would absolutely pay for that 15 minute update. Lots of people have different ideas of what money should get you, especially when it comes to indie devs.
