Did you ever resolve this? I've used the fourth dimension like another user suggested but still the only quest i've got for beth after going to the movies is the chud one.
Game is filled with bugs, if you want actual gameplay that works go to the renpy remake.
Don't know much about ARM Macs but for Linux and old school macs you would need to run it using a compatibility layer; on linux the most popular ones are WINE and Proton. Don't know what there is for ARM Macs. That, or you are going to need to use a virtual machine to run a windows or Android environment on whatever VM's are available to M1 Macs... if any.
